Ingredients

Tuvar Dal – ¼ Cup - Cooked and mashed into a fine paste
Butter – 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
Garlic – 1 tsp – grated
Ginger – 1 tsp – grated
Onion – 1 medium - grated
Tomato – 1 medium – pureed
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1-2 tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Salt
Water as needed
Coriander leaves for garnishing.


Method

Heat butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds. Once they start spluttering add garlic and onion. Saute it well . Add ginger and saute till the raw smell goes. Now add the tomato puree and saute it for 2 more mins. Mix in all the powders and salt. Add the cooked dal and mix it well. Add some water if needed. Bring it to boil for 2 mins. Take it off the heat and garnish it with coriander leaves . Serve hot with buttered rotis or jeera rice.
