Ingredients

Chicken – ½ Kg washed and cut into pieces
Onion- 1 Large chopped
Coriander Leaves – ½ bunch chopped
Ginger- Garlic paste – 2 tsp
Green chillies – 2 coarsely minced
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¾ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – ¾ tsp
Oil- 2 tbsp
Salt
Water as needed

Method

Take a pressure pan and heat oil. Add onions and some salt and saute it well. Add half the coriander leaves and chicken. Keep stirring for 5 mins. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute it. Add green chilli paste and fry for another 2 mins. Now add in red chilli pwd, Turmeric pwd, coriander pwd and garam masala pwd. Saute it . Add 1-2 cups water and let it pressure cook up to 2-3 whistles.

Whistles depends on the tenderness of the chicken and the cooker. You can cook without the pressure cooker as well. But it cooks faster if you pressure cook it. Once cooked take out the lid and cook on high flame so that the extra water evaporates and you get the desired consistency. Garnish with remaining coriander leaves.

My Notes

ü  The amount of oil, salt, and spice can be varied according to your taste and eating habits. This measurement works well for me and my family
