Moong Dal – ½ Cup
Asafoetida – a pinch
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Green chillies – 2 chopped
Curry leaves – 10
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Water – 4 cups (approx)
Lemon juice – 2 tsp
Coriander leaves – ½ cup
Ghee / oil – 1 tbsp

Moong Dal – ½ Cup

Lemon juice – 2 tsp
Coriander leaves – ½ cup
Ghee / oil – 1 tbsp

Method
Take a pressure pan
and add ghee. Add asafoetida and cumin seeds. Once it starts spluttering add
green chillies, curry leaves and add turmeric powder. Fry it for a min. Add the
dal and fry it for another half a min. Add water and pressure cook it for about
8-10 whistles. Once the cooker is cool, you can open and check for the
consistency of the dal. You can add some more water for desired consistency and
cook it for 5 more mins. Add salt and lemon juice. Check for seasoning. Garnish
it with coriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice.

ü The amount of salt and spices can be varied according to your taste and eating habits. This measurement works well for me and my family.
ü I did not have coriander leaves at home and hence I have not added. But it tastes very good if you add lots of it
