Chicken Grill

I have made this dish quite a few times before but it never came so perfectly. The prob was i was taking off the chicken from heat before it would get grilled perfectly fearing that it would get burnt. But this time the timing was perfect and it gave a proper grilled chicken taste. Have it with pudina chutney or mayonnaise.

Chicken needs to get charred a bit for it to be cooked completely.


Chicken Legs – 2 (Make cuts on it)
Red chilli powder – 4 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ¾ tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Thick Yogurt – ½ cup
Red food colour – a pinch
Oil as needed


Mix all the above ingredients except oil into a paste. Marinate the chicken with the masala and keep it in the refrigerator for around 6-8 hours.

Set the microwave into grill mode. Place the chicken pieces on the wire rack. Place a microwave safe plate at the bottom of the wire rack so that the juices from the chicken fall on the plate. Grill the chicken for 15 mins. Then turn the chicken and brush some oil on it and again grill it for another 15 mins. Repeat this process until chicken is done. Serve hot with Pudina chutney.

My Notes

ü  It took me around 45 mins to grill two pieces of chicken legs.

ü  Keep checking after every 10-15 mins so that the chicken does not get burnt.

ü  Keep brushing oil so that the chicken doesn't get dry.
